Welcome to Vintage Beauty by Noel, darling! My glamorous salon here is a dream come true after 10+ years in the making. But why hold tightly to a dream for so long? Because vintage hair and makeup is my passion! I'd be hard-pressed to name what I love as much as doing vintage hair and makeup. I'm just as excited and thrilled by a pin curl set that turns out great or a perfectly painted face of makeup as some would be hearing the most beautiful song in the world for the first time or eating the most amazing slice of pizza! I never stop being happy doing vintage hair and makeup. But where did such a love for the styles of the past come from? My sweet Papa showed me La Bamba, the biopic about Ritchie Valens and his life in the 50s, when I was 13 years old. When I first watched it, I was utterly mesmerized. Everything from the music to the cars to the fashion. I loved it all! But of course, one of the things I came to adore so much was the hair and makeup of the era. I couldn't get over how beautiful the makeup and hairstyles were! The softly sculpted coiffures, the elegant peaches and cream faces accentuated with a bright red lip. To quote Elvis, "My heart was captured, my soul surrendered". On that night a 1950s girl was born. And with this I began researching everything about how to do the most beautiful, authentic 1940s and 1950s hairstyles and makeup, delving into the actual techniques and products they used. After much trial and error, I realized the key to vintage beauty is to use vintage methods. If the ways they did hair and makeup was good enough to achieve these looks when they were brand new, they're good enough to use to recreate these styles nowadays. So, for over 10 years God has been perfecting this lost art through me, and I've been so fortunate to experience and see the joy it brings to my life and the lives of others. Through my work, I want to help you find and embrace your inner vintage girl and impart a happy memory. And most of all, help you to see yourself as fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator Jesus Christ. A girl with immeasurable value, unique and beautiful like no one else in the world can be.
